Firearm Transfers Made Easy

Step 1. Make Your Firearm Purchase
You must first purchase a DC compliant firearm. If you do not purchase from G&D FFL, please inform the seller to ship the firearm to G&D LLC. at the time of purchase. The seller will need to email G&D at [email protected] to send us a copy of their FFL. They will provide your information and we will be in contact once your firearm is received.
- Handguns cannot have a threaded barrel
- Magazine cannot be grater than 10 rounds
- Semi automatic shotgun cannot have a pistol grip or be magazine fed
- Semi automatic rifle cannot have a pistol grip, adjustable stock, forward vertical grip or flash hider -
Step 2. Firearm Transfer
Once your firearm has been received, you will be sent an invoice for the transfer fee via text message or email in the amount of $125 ($75 each additional firearm). Once the invoice has been satisfied, you will be contacted to schedule an appointment. Invoices have 30 days to be satisfied, after 30 days the firearm will receive a $25/mo storage fee up to 150 days. After 150 days the firearm becomes property of G&D FFL.

Step 3. G&D Appointment
During your appointment, we will complete your PD219, Firearm Registration Application or Conceal Carry Application, and schedule your MPD appointment. Please be sure to bring a valid photo ID. (District of Columbia Driver's license or Identification card)

Step 4. MPD Appointment
The Metropolitan Police Department will require you to bring the following documents for your firearm registration:
- Certificate of Firearm Safety Training
- Provide a valid government issued photo ID
- 2 Forms of proof of Residency (Lease agreement, vehicle registration card, voter registration, deed to home, bank statement, W2……)
- Application for Firearm Registration Certificate (PD219)
- Firearm Registration Application/Conceal Carry Application
- Info Sheet
- Firearm Sales Receipt (if asked)
- Payment ($13 Firearm registration application fee, $35 Finger printing, $75 Conceal Carry Application if applicable)
*MPD has up to 60 days to process a firearm registration application/ 90 days to complete a conceal carry application. For updates on your application contact MPD Firearm Registration Branch. -
Step 5. Registration and Firearm Pick up
When MPD has successfully completed your application, you will be sent a digital version of your registration via email from MPD. You will need to forward that email to us at [email protected]. Upon receiving the forwarded email, we will contact you to schedule an appointment. During this appointment, we will complete your ATF Form 4473 and run your Federal Background Check. If the Federal background check comes back immediately, you will leave that day with your firearm. If your background check goes into a delay, you will have to come back to retrieve your firearm once we get a Proceed from the FBI. Firearms that have not been picked up within 30 days of the registration approval are subject to the $25/mo storage fees, up to 150 days. After 150 days the firearm becomes property of G&D FFL.
